Behaviour Mentors
We have two behaviour mentors within the school: Mrs Kim Duffin (KS2) and Mrs Hannah Nutley (KS1). Children who would benefit from targeted support are identified through regular analysis of the Reminder, Warning, Consequence system and Red and Yellow card system. Our behaviour mentors then design personalised programmes for the individuals to address the behaviours which have resulted in them being identified.
The mentors also work with children across the school on an informal basis, talking through red and yellow cards and working with groups. In this group work, we aim to use restorative practice to repair relationships. Restorative Practice teaches an understanding of others and gives pupils the skills they need to resolve conflict, build trust and prevent harm. This in turn helps young people express themselves and develop empathy.
