The School Day

Main School Timings

The total number of school hours per week is 32.5 hours as children are engaged in learning activities from 8.40am to 3.10pm daily (Reception to Year 6).

The gates at Radcliffe Gardens and Harbury Road open at 8:30am. Children should arrive at this time as their teacher is in class to welcome them. This is an important time of the day as learning activities are set out and children socialise with their peers and their teacher. Registration is taken at 8:40am promptly.

Please find below our Start and End of Day Procedures document.

We ensure that senior and administrative members of staff are on duty on both gates. This enables parents to feel secure in the knowledge that children are safely on school premises. Children can be dropped at the gates from 8:30-8:40am and walk to their classrooms; entering from the exterior doors.

Only Early Years parents are allowed to enter the school site and take their children to Nursery or the Reception gate. Parents dropping off Nursery children will need to exit via the Harbury path because the other gates will be closed at this point.

Registers are taken in class promptly at 8.40am and any children arriving after this time will be marked as late. Gates are locked at 8.40am so any children arriving late will need to report to the school office.

The school day finishes at 3:10pm for Reception to Year 6 children but many children stay to attend clubs after school or go to our after school club, Hedgerows (see information on Parents tab). Full details of these clubs are provided at the start of each term.
